2004-08-25 - 6:11 p.m. - Cycle day: She's barely walking anymore - now she wants to run. Crawling is a complete memory. It's amazing how fast we move from one stage to another. The Husband said something the other night about how time seems to move more quickly as we get older because each year is a smaller and smaller fraction of our lives. The same seems to be true for baby time. The first few months took forevvvvvver, and now I can barely keep up with each passing month. She's almost a year old! Can you believe it? First birthdays happen to other people's kids, not mine. Speaking of which, we're trying to decide what to do for the big birthday. I was thinking of a cook-out, but we're now in this strange and blessedly inconvenient position of actually having quite a few friends. If we invited our core group, plus all our new playgroup and parent friends, we'd have a pretty sizeable mob on our hands. Might be a fun mob, though. We'll have to figure it out. In other news, I'm scheduled for a sigmoidoscopy on Sept. 2. It's like a colonoscopy, but only of the lower GI tract instead of the whole thing. Since my initial doctor's visits, I've been having a variety of symptoms that seem to indicate some sort of infection, but my physician says to get through the scope first and then we can deal with the rest. So, there's that. No real closure yet, but I'm trying not to stress (too much) about it. What's actually got me the most worried is figuring out how to get through all the procedure prep, but I guess I'll deal. I just want to get it over with and get some answers about what's going on.
