Time for the 8-month well baby visit. And it looks like we indeed have a well baby. Dr. Hippie said she looked great. I think it was the first appointment where he asked developmental questions, like what kind of noises she's making and how she's handling utensils (she knows how to use a spoon, she just doesn't like us to put anything on it). Her length (she can stand up, so is it height now?) was about 27", and her weight has about 17 1/2 lbs. Both were in the low end of the 50th percentile, so her growth seems to be averaging out. I think they just have a messed up scale that doesn't account for the early weight gain of breastfed babies, because every nursing mother I know thinks her 2-to-4-month-old is a hoss.
