2005-07-17 - 2:43 p.m. - Cycle day: Just regenerated the diary after being notified that Diaryland takes these puppies down if you disappear for awhile. I guess I should maybe officially retire this journal due to my inability to keep it updated, but I'm not quite ready to give up hope that I'll find time for regular writing. It's just that running two businesses and raising a very active toddler hasn't left me much time for anything but the absolute necessities. I realize that having these pockets of creativity is important to my well-being, but I can't yet make it a higher priority than the less glamorous aspects of daily life. The journal comes after the banking and the inventory ordering and the website updating and the business calls, and all of those things come after M. Speaking of which, if anyone's interested, she's astounding. And challenging. And inspiring. And frustrating. I thought all the milestones would slow down at this age, but there are just new things popping up all the time. New words, new tricks, new comprehension of her universe. You can practically hear the synapses firing. She's speaking in short sentences, saying please, thank you and sorry, and socializing with anyone who gives her the required 5 minutes to warm up. Her physical development is apparently somewhat advanced, I hear, as she's climbing, balancing and jumping like an older kid. What I'll do with a jock, I have no idea. Maybe if we pressure her into sports, she'll rebel and become a geek like her parents.
